Bedroom Decor: How to keep up with new TRENDS?

The biggest nightmare with any design has always been that trends come and go and how can I keep up?

Decorating our master bedroom, I went with neutral colors and as for an accent color I went with coral. It was a hard decision what  accent color to choose, but I realized that there is not much of coral in the room and in a few years when I'll decide to do a different color I can just change the pillow covers and buy a new throw. Everything else in the room is very neutral and classic, so it won't need to be updated for a long time.

Our room is now furnished and has some of the decor displayed. It is still a work in progress and I will be updating as the room will be coming along.

My favorite piece in the room "Patchwork Dresser from West Elm."

Lighting Fixtures, make it fit your style without spending more then $10

Being a wife on a budget is not necessary a bad thing. I believe that people who have less, sometimes use their imagination to the fullest. Today, I will share a convenient and hopefully helpful tip on how to update old and unattractive lighting fixtures:

1. Originally, the fixture had these yellowy/beige color globes which are not bad looking, but in our house they looked absolutely out of style. The problem was the color: with our grey walls and snow white trim, beige globes had to go.

2. After taking off beige globes, I found very traditional  fluorescent light bulbs underneath which also had to go. I used the most simple mason jars that I had left from my wedding, they became the new globes.

3. The three products that I used; 6 Mason jars, 6 Incandescent (small) light bulbs, and 6 pieces of pvc pipes from Lowes that were spray-painted matte black.
